Fernie Mountain House sits at Fernie Alpine Resort, with ski-in, ski-out access and room for 16 guests across seven bedrooms. Its 4,500 square feet unfold over three elevator-connected levels, allowing everyone to find some privacy without losing the convivial feel of a shared mountain home.

What elevated it to our shortlist were the details. Fourteen pairs of boots and gloves can dry at once, mountain bikes have their own wash station, and a private Nordic-inspired spa combines a wood-lined sauna, cold plunge and hot tub. It is exceptionally well conceived for active groups, whether the plan involves powder days, summer trails or a bit of both.
